Information Technology is not a choice but a necessity. It is an integral part of
our strategy to survive and, hopefully, to prosper in a complicated world. In
the midst of confusion over which information services will predominate,
Internet has become the common location accessible from most all others. User
demand has forced proprietary services to permit effective Internet access.
Since the beginning, PCSO has always endeavored to provide the most appropriate
and comprehensive information on our games and products, as well as on the
services we have continuously provided the public. For almost 75 years, the PCSO
has consistently published the Sweepstakes perennial news reports through which
we inform the public of the results of our traditional Sweepstakes draws.
But just as computers serve many different purposes, new advances in technology
will impact many aspects of our society. Virtual communities will provide a new
option for people that can be important in their lives. Communities of interest
can also be an important resource for professionals sharing common experiences
with others facing similar challenges.
Taking this cue, we, at PCSO, endeavor to continually update our existing
technology with the firm belief that that community development incorporates
efforts which will strengthen the capacity of a local community, its
organizations and residents to improve their lives. To improve its services
therefore, PCSO has to constantly enhance the capabilities of the government and
the private sector in information and communications technology.
The launching of the revised PCSO Website not only features an expanded layout of
information on our products and services, emphasizing transparency of our
mandated role in government as the principal revenue-generating arm for charity
and health-oriented programs and projects, but also showcases new modes of
real-time communication which maximizes our efforts to bring the services of our
Agency to the people in the soonest possible means available.
Therefore, in behalf of all my co-public servants in PCSO, I take this
opportunity to welcome you to our newly-refurbished, upgraded website towards an
even more responsive PCSO!
Let us all continue to Care, Share and Win!
