The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) led by General Manager Alexander F. Balutan distributed sixteen (16) ambulance units in Mindanao, particularly in the provinces of Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental and Lanao del Sur on March 27, 2017 at its newly opened provincial Branch Office in Barangay Del Carmen, Iligan City, Lanao del Norte.
GM Balutan was assisted by PCSO Assistant General Manager for Branch Operations Remeliza M. Gabuyo, Assets and Supply Management Department Manager Atty. Reena Yumina Yason-San Agustin, General Services Department Manager John Derek Porciuncula and Mindanao Department Manager Gloria Ybañez.
The locals in the area and the nearby provinces were delighted and thankful for the opening of PCSO’s 57th Branch Office in Lanao del Norte, which happened on the same day of the distribution of the ambulance units.
Iligan City Mayor Celso G. Regencia, together with the other recipients of the ambulance units, expressed their gratitude and vowed to support PCSO’s lotto games and the newly expanded Small Town Lottery (STL) to eliminate illegal gambling in the province.
Meanwhile, on March 28, 2017, PCSO once again donated 16 ambulance units to the Provinces of Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon at the Misamis Oriental Provincial Capitol, ABAP Building, Corrales Avenue, Cagayan de Oro City.PCSO General Manager Alexander F. Balutan was also assisted by PCSO Officials Assistant General Manager for Branch Operations Remeliza M. Gabuyo, Assets and Supply Department Manager Atty. Reena Yason-San Agustin and Mindanao Department Manager Gloria Ybañez during the turnover of ambulances.
GM Balutan mentioned that the ambulance turnover activities, which happened on March 27 and 28, 2017, are historic in terms of volume. A total of 32 ambulance units were distributed across Mindanao.
PCSO’s Ambulance Donation Program provides units to save lives from 1st to 6th class municipalities, health facilities, government and private hospitals nationwide.
GM Balutan explained that all health and charitable programs and projects of PCSO, including the Ambulance Donation Program, are made possible through the support of the people who patronize its lottery games and the Small Town Lottery.
“For every twenty pesos you spend for a lotto ticket or similar, six pesos goes automatically to charity,” GM Balutan said.
“Walang kulay ang pagtulong ng PCSO- kahit ikaw ay pula, dilaw, itim o asul, ang Pilipinong nangangailangan ay aming tutulungan”, he added.
