To be able to immediately rescue and save lives more effectively during emergency cases in every municipality, a capable ambulance unit is needed.

This is the reason why the Municipal Health Unit of San Juan in the province of Abra sought the assistance for an ambulance from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and the humble request was granted by the charitable agency.

On May 2, 2017, at the PCSO Head Office, 4th floor of Sun Plaza Building, Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City, Chairman Jose Jorge Corpuz and Director Marlon Balite welcomed the Local Government Unit of San Juan, Abra and granted its request under the PCSO Ambulance Donation Program.

San Juan, Abra Mayor Meynardo M. Bautista Jr. and Municipal Health Officer (MHO) Edgar M. Bernardino, M.D. openly expressed their gratitude to PCSO Chairman Corpuz and Director Balite for receiving an ambulance unit.

Abra Mayor Bautista and Dr. Bernardino are both excited to bring home to their constituents the new ambulance. “Ang tagal na po naming naghahangad magkaroon ng ambulansiya para sa aming bayan”, Mayor Bautista told Chairperson Corpuz.

San Juan, Abra is a 5th class municipality with 19 barangays and almost 11,000 households as of 2015.
