The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has extended assistance to residents of Laurel, Batangas, by providing various medicines and vitamins for the municipality.

The turnover ceremony, led by Medical Services Department Manager Dr. Clarissa Ferrer, was held on May 28, 2026, at the PCSO Main Office along Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City.

Mayor Lyndon Bruce received the medical supplies on behalf of the municipality and expressed gratitude to PCSO for its support.

According to Mayor Bruce, the medicines and vitamins will significantly contribute to safeguarding the health of residents, particularly senior citizens and individuals suffering from various illnesses.

He also highlighted the unique challenges faced by Laurel, Batangas, noting that the town is situated near Taal Volcano. Because of this proximity, residents are more vulnerable to potential health risks caused by volcanic emissions, including ash and airborne pollutants.

The initiative forms part of PCSO’s Medicine Donation Program, which seeks to support communities in need by providing essential medicines free of charge while enhancing access to healthcare services nationwide.
