The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Iloilo Branch received the highest audit energy rating of 5 stars garnering a score of 92.8% for the implementation of the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) and scoring a perfect 100% compliance for its electricity conservation measures for the last 3 years. The rating of 5 stars is the result of the Department of Energy Audit Team spot check conducted on Wednesday August 10, 2022 at the PCSO Branch Office in La Paz, Iloilo.

The ENERGY AUDIT CERTIFICATION GUIDELINES FOR FIRM, PARTNERSHIP, AND CORPORATION (FPC) under Section 3 of the Republic Act No. 11285 or the “Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act” (EEC Act) provides the establishment of a framework for introducing and institutionalizing fundamental policies on energy efficiency and conservation, including the promotion of efficient and judicious utilization of energy, increase in the utilization of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies, and the delineation of responsibilities among various government agencies and private entities.

The core objective of GEMP is to monitor and reduce the electricity consumption of all government entities including Government Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) by 10%.
