Batangas City, September 23, 2025 — Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Board Director Janet De Leon Mercado spearheaded the turnover of 1,000 Charitimba food packs for the residents of Looc, Romblon on Tuesday.
The turnover activity, held at the Batangas City Port, forms part of PCSO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, which aims to extend assistance to communities in need across the country.
Representing Looc Mayor Lisette Arboleda, municipal staff member Romano Aviles personally received the food packs during the turnover ceremony.

Director Mercado underscored PCSO’s commitment to supporting local government units, especially in far-flung provinces, by providing not only medical and financial aid but also basic necessities to ensure food security for families.
“This initiative is a reminder that PCSO is
not only here to raise revenues for charity but also to give back to the Filipino people through tangible and immediate assistance,” Mercado said.
The Municipality of Looc, known for its coastal communities and rich marine resources, is one of the many localities benefiting from PCSO’s continuing outreach programs. According to the agency, more food and medical missions are lined up as part of its CSR calendar in the coming months.

Through programs like these, PCSO reaffirms its role as a partner of government and community leaders in alleviating hardships faced by vulnerable sectors, further strengthening its mission, “Hindi Umuurong sa Pagtulong.”
